{"id":4551,"date":"2021-07-06T14:01:31","date_gmt":"2021-07-06T14:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peninsulapartnership.org.uk\/?p=4551"},"modified":"2021-07-06T14:01:31","modified_gmt":"2021-07-06T14:01:31","slug":"resilience-adaptation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peninsulapartnership.org.uk\/resilience-adaptation\/","title":{"rendered":"Resilience &amp; Adaptation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Climate Resilience and Adaptation \u2013 ICZM 2021<\/em> has been written to provide parishes, communities and environmental groups on the Manhood Peninsula with information and practical ideas about climate change issues affecting the peninsula.<\/p>\n<p>The Manhood Peninsula is a prime example of a coastal area facing dynamic coastal and climate change together with an intractable transport problem due to its geography as a small, low-lying triangle of land on the south coast of England bordered by the open coast, \u00a0two harbours of environmental significance locally, nationally and internationally, and the largest open coast managed realignment site in the UK. Long hours of sunshine, a mild climate, open landscape and big skies mean it has long been recognised as a desirable area to live, holiday, foster businesses and grow food. It has a thriving economy based on fishing, farming and tourism.<\/p>\n<p>The future of the Manhood Peninsula is affected by two things: the changing physical environment and human constraints.
