{"id":4502,"date":"2021-04-08T14:41:52","date_gmt":"2021-04-08T14:41:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/peninsulapartnership.org.uk\/?p=4502"},"modified":"2021-04-11T15:07:58","modified_gmt":"2021-04-11T15:07:58","slug":"beach-check-app","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peninsulapartnership.org.uk\/beach-check-app\/","title":{"rendered":"Beach Check App"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A beach crowd management app developed by Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council will now be offered to other UK towns and cities following new funding.<\/p>\n<p>The Beach Check app was launched last year to aid social distancing and support COVID-19 safety measures as people <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/uk-england-dorset-53607907\">flocked to beaches<\/a> in record numbers.<\/p>\n<p>BCP Council has been awarded an additional \u00a340,000 through the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government\u2019s Local Digital Fund to further develop and deploy the app. This includes the potential to monitor crowding at different types of facilities, such as car parks.<\/p>\n<p>The app will go live in May 2021 and the roll out is being facilitated by Bournemouth Coastal Tourism Academy.
