To influence long-lasting sustainable change in how marine resources are managed,\u00a0the New\u00a0Economics Foundation\u00a0(NEF) have\u00a0produced\u00a0a collection of resources as a reference pack for NGOs and those people who may be new to the economic concepts and\u00a0language that underpin many\u00a0socio-economic issues. It\u2019s also for anyone with an interest in socio-economics, the marine\u00a0environment, or both.<\/p>\n

Working with four key UK NGOs involved in the fisheries-marine biodiversity debate, (MCS, RSPB, the Wildlife Trusts and WWF) the\u00a0NEF has highlighted how economic arguments can be used to engage in debates around the socioeconomic value of different marine sectors, and to question government or industry analysis in a robust, credible manner.<\/p>\n
