A Plain English Guide to the Localism Bill <\/a>has now been produced by Communities and Local Government.\u00a0<\/p>\n This guide describes the main measures of the Localism Bill under four headings:<\/p>\n 1. New freedoms and flexibilities for local government.<\/p>\n 2. New rights and powers for communities and individuals.<\/p>\n 3. Reform to make the planning system more democratic and more effective.<\/p>\n 4. Reform to ensure that decisions about housing are taken locally.<\/p>\n This document is designed to give an overview only. You can read the Bill and its explanatory notes in full, and follow its progress through parliament, on the parliament website<\/a>.<\/p>\n
