One aim of the MWHG is to encourage people to value their local environment, to put them back in touch with the wealth of wildlife around them and thus stimulate them to care for species and habitats by involving the local community.<\/p>\n

Several sites in the town of Selsey are now under sympathetic management for wildlife and this has been supplemented by work across the peninsula. Surveys are regularly conducted for orchids, water voles, hedges, ponds, trees and wild flowers. The results are sent to the Sussex Biodiversity Records Centre.<\/p>\n

There are Beach, Tree and Pond Wardens as well as an Adopt-a-Beach organiser. In addition,\u00a0they organise Training for\u00a0their volunteers and\u00a0take Health and Safety seriously.<\/p>\n
