The Eleventh Selsey Festival features over 70 events taking place over a three week Festival week period from Saturday 3rd to Monday 26th August. Shows, talks, exhibitions, fetes, craft fairs, sport, demonstrations, bazaars ending with the Bank Holiday weekend Selsey Carnival. Sea defences have been required in the Manhood Peninsula for many years. A great deal of work was needed following a particularly bad storm in December 1951 which wrecked houses along the Selsey sea front, and led to their subsequent demolition.
