Planning & Climate Change Guide

A new guide to planning and climate change has been launched by the Planning and Climate Change Coalition which includes planners, local authorities, developers and environmental organisations. The Planning & Climate Change Coalition was brought together by Friends of the Earth and the Town & Country Planning Association. It includes over 40 cross-sector organisations and individuals.

The Planning and Climate Change Guide: guidance and model policies for local authorities can be downloaded here.

The guide is designed primarily for local authorities and the forthcoming Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) who want to both tackle climate change and enable greater use of renewable energy. It builds on work carried out earlier in 2010 to update PPS1 on planning and climate change and PPS22 on renewable energy.

More information about climate change can be found in the Coastal Management and Climate Change Links section of the website.
